Addition of small amounts-( 50ų) of EDTA to acidified solutions of ascorbic acid, completely protects the vitamin against copper-catalysed aerobic oxidation.
Dissolve Ascorbinezuur and EDTA with deionized water in a 500-mL volumetric flask and dilute to volume. The solution is stable for 3-4 weeks at 4°C. 1,3% g/v (=1,3g EDTA /100ml MiliQ and 1,3g Asc. Acid/100ml MiliQ)
